Philip (Phil) J. Picott, MBA, FAA Pilot – President / CEO

Philip (Phil) J. Picott is a business executive and world renowned Photo Journalist, with over 30 years of sports inspired action photography experience.

Picott became involved with the professional tennis industry and photography as a young high school student back in the early 1980’s. During this time Picott was sponsored by tennis equipment manufacture Donnay USA, in recognition of his athletic talent as a competitive junior tennis player. While possessing some natural athletic ability, his success on the tennis court did not come easily, as he quickly learned about the importance of maintaining a good education, toward building a more traditional career. One day while attending The U. S. Pro Tennis Tournament at the Longwood Cricket Club in Chestnut Hill, MA (Boston) during the summer of 1984, Picott met two legendary tennis photographers; 1.) 2006 International Tennis Hall of Fame Inductee Mr. Russ Adams and 2.) the first woman to ever receive a Centre Court photographer’s media credential for Wimbledon in 1980, the late Ms. Carol Newsom. Both introduced Picott to the art of Action Sports Photography, while also serving as his mentors. Picott utilized his keen knowledge as a competitive tennis player in order to anticipate unique photographic imagery as it was happening LIVE on the court. This inherent skill became Picott’s distinguishing trait over many other tennis photographers who did not fully understand the strategy of the game. Throughout the years, Picott continued to perfect his photography and videography skills, while also covering other sports and breaking news events including: (NBA, NFL, PGA, and MLB).

A native of Philadelphia, PA, Picott has experienced six cross-country corporate relocations; (three moves to Southern California), and has held senior business leadership positions in such noted corporations as: Paramount Pictures’ syndicated television program “Entertainment Tonight“, Lucent Technologies (Avaya Communication), Sharp Electronics, Johnson & Johnson (Ethicon Endo-Surgery), Digital Equipment Corporation (Hewlett Packard), and the U. S. Federal Government. Defined as a true “Jack-of-all-Trades”, Picott’s professional business expertise can be accurately and literally described as follows: “Rocket Science”, as a former UNIX Sales Engineer assigned to NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory – to – “Brain Surgery”, as a former Hospital Surgical Consultant.

Picott graduated in 1983 from the prestigious public high school, The Bromfield School, located in Harvard, MA; (In 2011, U. S. News and World Report ranked The Bromfield School 87th in the nation out of more than 26,000 high schools). Picott is also a “double” alumnus of Northeastern University in Boston, MA, where he earned both a B.S. degree in Business Administration in 1988 and an MBA degree in Marketing in 1995. Picott also earned a post-graduate certification in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery in 1995 from The Endo Institute; (University of Cincinnati School of Medicine) and is soundly proficient in 6 different biological anatomies.

Weighing in at only 18 pounds and 12 inches tall, our fun loving Boston Terrier dog, mascot, and furry little friend Cali will always work hard to put a smile on your face. Regardless of how big or small the ball is, Cali definitely LOVES her action sports and entertainment!

Initially weighing in at a whopping 4 pounds at 8 weeks old on (5/7/19), Coco (Cali’s little sister) officially joined our team, as we look forward to many memorable years of fun and excitement with her!
